Barry Allen
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer


Mr. Allen brings 20 years of medical technology management experience to Urodynamix. Most recently, he was Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Ventures West Management Inc., a venture capital investor focused on North American life science and technology firms.

From March 1999 to February 2004, Mr. Allen was President and CEO of VSM MedTech Ltd. During his tenure at VSM, the company grew from five to over 150 employees and evolved from a research and development company into a world-class manufacturer and marketer of medical products. Under Mr. Allen’s leadership, VSM generated sales of approximately $20 million in 2003. He successfully raised more than $65 million in capital and led VSM’s migration from the CDNX Venture Exchange to the Toronto Stock Exchange with a corresponding increase in market capitalization from $2 million to a high of approximately $400 million.

Mr. Allen serves on a number of for-profit and charity boards including Medical Ventures Corp (TSX-V:MEV), LifeSciences British Columbia and the Manning Innovation Awards. He is Chairman of the BC Excels Professional Skills Program and a co-founder of the Western Canadian Pediatric AIDS Foundation. In 2003, he was recognized as one of “Canada’s Top 40 under 40” by The Globe and Mail and The Report on Business.

Jonathan Jackson, CA
Chief Financial Officer


Mr. Jackson has held CFO and VP Finance roles in high-tech and manufacturing companies for the past 12 years and was most recently the Chief Financial Officer at Extreme CCTV Inc., where he successfully completed the sale of that company to Robert Bosch GmbH of Germany. Mr. Jackson has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.

Greg Gauthier
Vice President, Business Development

With over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, Mr. Gauthier has held progressive sales and business development positions with industry leaders across North America and Europe including Baxter Healthcare Corp., Siemens Healthcare, C. R. Bard Inc., AmerisourceBergen Corp. and Alaris Medical Systems (acquired by Cardinal Health Inc. in 2004).

Mr. Gauthier has extensive experience taking new products into the healthcare market and aggressively executing innovative business development and joint venture strategies. He has been responsible for a number of successful marketing campaigns and new product introductions, successfully negotiating distribution agreements, managing distribution channels and establishing global dealer networks. Mr. Gauthier is a graduate of the University of Waterloo.

Luya Li, PhD
Vice President, Technology


Dr. Li has a PhD in Electrical Engineering and over 20 years experience in developing leading edge technologies. He was most recently a Senior Technical Manager at VSM MedTech Ltd., where he led the development of a medical device incorporating near infrared optical sensing technology through its early stages, clinical studies and collaboration with development partners. Dr. Li has also held a variety of senior technical positions in research institutions and industrial high tech companies.
